Academic Case History

CFC-Solar is currently working with various community colleges and universities in fulfilling the industrial training needs of clients in their respective areas. Below are summaries of the work we have done and are currently doing. Contact us if you would like specific names of the schools and individuals we are working with at those institutions.

Community College:   Working with Industrial Maintenance Program Manager
This college brought us to a client who needed standard hydraulic and custom hydraulic/pneumatics training on machinery that was old and had no prints, yet was still used extensively in their manufacturing process. We were also brought into to a meat-processing customer of theirs to conduct custom troubleshooting training onsite in the plant. In both programs we supplied instructors, books and training equipment.

The college also offered an evening program of our courses that was geared towards FPS certification. Many of our courses were also approved to receive college credit by their review board. We, in turn, have brought our clients to them. One specific client of ours needed over $60,000 in specific electrical and instrumentation training, which we did not provide at the time. In this instance, the school was able to provide this training.

Community College:  Working with Director of Center for Business and Industry
This college came to us on a recommendation from another college. An international manufacturer came to the college looking for someone to develop and deliver a custom course based on their machines. They wanted this course to offer to their customers. This course was developed and successfully delivered and is now a standard offering by the manufacturer to their customers. We, in turn, have brought Tier 1 automotive companies to this school and are in the process of kicking off multi-craft programs for them in conjunction with the school.

University:   Working with Director of Continuing Education and Business & Industry Center
We have trained their clients from a steel plant and we have also conducted custom training for the university for a small manufacturing company (which led to certification). Most recently we brought an international client to them who had local people that needed a series of classes leading to certification. The university was able to help the company with grants to reduce the cost of the training.

Community College:   Working with Dean of Engineering Technology
We have taken on the training of vendors, which supply a major automotive manufacturer near this school. Training has been conducted at the manufacturer as well as at the school. We have used training equipment and books that the school supplied. We are in the process of offering an evening program leading to certification, which we will help market.

University:   Working with Business Enterprise Center
We brought them a manufacturer in their area that was intending to bring in an outside training company to work with them. We contacted the school and made a joint sales call on the company and subsequently supplied the training on behalf of the school.

Community College:   Working with Director of Business and Industry Center
We brought them a major client with whom we had been conducting industrial training. The school had conducted soft-skills training with the client, but was interested in strengthening the relationship, so we ran some of the industrial training through the school.

University:   Working with Director of Statewide Business & Industry Training
This university was in danger of losing training program with a Tier 1 automotive manufacturer in their area due to inadequate industrial training. We stepped in and ran a portion of the program for 2 quarters, which convinced the company to stay with the university.

School of Engineering:   Working with Staff Director
We conducted courses for the staff to upgrade their knowledge in certain high-end hydraulic topics.

Technical College:   Working with Director
We conducted certification training for instructors on staff.

Community College:   Working with Director of Industrial Technology Dept
We consulted with them in the purchase of major automation technology training equipment. This resulted in the school purchasing multiple systems for other schools in the region at substantial savings.
